Pirate Parties on the Rise
Written by Ernesto on July 12, 2006The raid on the PirateBay, and the responses in Sweden to the case motivated a lot of pirates around the globe to organize themselves into Pirate Parties.
In the slipstream of their Swedish counterpart they defend the “right to pirate” and privacy related issues.
The USA now has its very own pirate party (interview), and recently The French founded a pirate party, as well as Italy and Belgium,
In Austria the pirates are a part of the communist pary KPÖ.
There was a UK equivalent as founded a couple of weeks ago, but it seems like they sold out already.
