The movie with the highest IMDB rating is at the bottom of the table.
Could IMDB and Pirate’s opinions differ so much?

The only movie I’ve downloaded and watched on there is RocknRolla, and I’ve commented on that movie before.

I am quite interested in ‘Body of Lies’ though, it’s supposed to be like Taken / Arlington Road sort of movie (according to iMDB’s You may also like…)

yeah but sinbad benjamin has been available for weeks and people would have downloaded it as soon as it was up therefor pirates have seen it and dont download it every week. lol

Well this chart isn’t about pirates opinions, it’s about what they’re downloading which is completely different.

Also most of these are only downloaded because they are uploaded by one particular person/group: axxo.

I count six of the top ten as his/her/thier releases. SIX!

I dont care how you look at it, that is success… in the releases world.

@10 I have a bandwidth cap and no HDTV, so 700mb files are just fine by me. It makes no sense for me to download files over 1G because it all looks the same on my TV.

I also watch a lot of movies and don’t really want to wait more than a few hours to finish a d/l. axxo’s stuff is great because I can count on a large swarm, consistent file size and can d/l 1-2 movies over a night and watch them the next day.

I have access to a private tracker for HDTV and I can tell you I thought I’d love it when I first got an invite, but I don’t. I downloaded a bunch of movies and ended up switching back to axxo and FxG on public because it’s just more convenient, faster and the only place the quality makes a difference is on my computer monitor which I don’t like to watch movies on.

I don’t understand how you can knock aXXo when he’s clearly filling a massive demand. If you don’t like his releases, then don’t download them and stfu.

@8 & 10 – How can anyone be mad at Axxo? Regardless of what you think about the group/person, they’re still uploading stuff for you. FOR FREE!! So don’t be so ungrateful.

Like the other day i uploaded a game that happened to be faulty. Ive uploaded hundreds of other torrents that worked great but still i got unessential rude comments.

I remember when people used to be good to other file sharers. Now it just seems to be everyman for himself which sucks :(

It’s like people banging on about how great ipods are, yet you can get an equally great if not better mp3 player for half the price. Axxo’s rips are decent and that is all. You can find much better rips around the 700mb size if you look around (NewArtRiot is a group I recommend).

There are just to many newbies who listen to all that axxo hype rather than taking time to actually find a quality rip.

Axxo is fucking garbage. Stay with quality scene groups for DVD Rips such as Diamond, PUKKA, Vomit, groups like those. They are normally higher resolution / higher bitrate and have a better done encoding job to xvid. I’ve compared Axxo vs Diamond many times and Diamond always wins.

i recommend sexdrive , really funny movie. i know some arent gonna agree but i like axxo cause of the 700mb file. i see the difference in quality but don’t care enough to wait for or download the better quality movie/better scene release. also i just see who has the movie and how many seeds there are wich also make me decide.

Lol thats easy. Search ‘W’ and the year it was made… Ie ‘W 2008′. If that don’t work, add a ‘dvd’ to the search.

aXXo always had good quality, not the same can be said for Diamond with his telesync BS, or Pukka with their R5 bad sound & missing minutes crap. Another reason why aXXo is a winner is because he leaves the endcredits in there.

That being said I think mpaa assholes have taken over this thread.

I have no idea if aXXo “steals” scene rips – actually I highly doubt he re-encodes XviDs as posted above because the quality loss doesn’t appear to be there.

He may well encode from scene DVD-Rs, in which case there is a small quality loss in many cases – because most DVD movies are released as DVD9 and the main title usually goes over both layers. The scene makes most DVD-R releases as DVD5 and hence re-encodes MPEG2 with some loss of quality.

If aXXo (or anyone) encodes these to MPEG4 (Xvid) then the quality will not be as good as someone encoding from a retail DVD to Xvid because there has been an extra lossy encoding step.

The reason I say to avoid aXXo is it’s not scene. The scene has standards to ensure quality and if releases don’t pass these standards then they’re nuked.

I’ve never seen a 2 CD aXXo release – doesn’t mean they aren’t out there mind you, I don’t get files from places where aXXo releases are to be found anymore. Many DVDs require a 1.4GB release to keep a good level of quality up according to scene standards.

Not all P2P groups are crap – Devise, GrandDK are two that aren’t – however aXXo, imo isn’t up to standards at all. And generally I stick to scene content because it has a quality standard that any random releaser does not have, including proper sources, preperation (cropping etc.), encoder settings and a warranty of quality of sorts (IE. nukinh of bad releases).

I agree..DiAMOND is better than aXXo !
Infact i find FXG rips better than aXXo…the only thing with aXXo torrents are that they are better seeded even for an old release..look for a year old aXXo release and u will still see a descent d/l rate !
For new ones I will still go for a well seeded scener like pukka or diamnond !

Uh.. how can you compare R5’s from a group like PUKKA to Axxo who only does DVDRips. PUKKA does a fine job on their dvdrips, occasionally a slip up will happen and they or someone else will repack, but for the most part they’re quality. Oh, also to inform you, Diamond doesn’t do telesync releases. Only quality xvid DVDRips. Only 5 movies out of MANY releases since 2006 have been nuked and am sure at least 2 of those were insignificant nukes. Isn’t shit. Diamond owns.
