TalkTalk, Virgin and Sky Asked to Block Newzbin2

Following on from their success against ISP BT, the MPA have been busy writing to other UK service providers with a request for them to start blocking Newzbin2.

The MPA confirmed they had contacted the major ISPs – Virgin Media, Sky and TalkTalk all said they had received letters from Hollywood.

“There are some elements of the order, for instance that we have to pay the costs of implementing it, that we think are inappropriate,” TalkTalk’s Andrew Heaney told the BBC.

Both Sky and Virgin Media said they would comply with relevant court orders.

Last week, a coalition of entertainment industry bodies led by the BPI approached BT to begin blocking The Pirate Bay.
