The top 10 most downloaded movies on BitTorrent, ‘TRON: Legacy’ tops the chart this week, followed by ‘The King’s Speech’. ‘The Next Three Days’ completes the top three.

    127 Hours looks like the best, TRON: Legacy was disappointing, and The King’s Speech certainly failed to live up to the hype surrounding it.

    Tron was disappointing, I agree. Though I have to admit that the graphics and technology to do such a feat was not possible 10~15 years ago. Remember when we thought Superman was kick ass when we were kids. I like to think Tron does deserve recognition. It was disappointing with the acting. It could have been much more surrealistic than just plain acting.

      Huh? Everything about Tron Legacy was surrealistic. The problem with high-concept movies is that you need to find a balance between ‘way out there’ and ‘grounded in reality’. Go too far in either direction and you’ve alienated 90% of your audience (in a fantasy movie).

      Tron Legacy is VERY high-concept, but is also a story about being human in an inhuman environment.

      Trust me, once you understand where the philosophy of the movie comes from, the movie is quite deep and mentally rewarding. The casual watcher may not understand it, but it’s very cerebral and ingenious once you dig deeper.

    Now, going off of the other blog post and comment thread… I’ve only seen one movie on this list, and I haven’t even pirated one off this list. I -would- like a refund for having seen that one as well.

    I agree with the person in the other thread that this list in no way shows what people -like-, just what is -available- for the latest bollywood crap.

    i went to the cinema to see tron because of all the hype
    and left feeling ripped off ,got to be one of the worst films i have ever seen,the graphics were good that was it.i wish you could get a rufund when a film dosent live up to the hype.” that film was not fit for purpose it did not entertain me therfore i want my money back as i was sold a lie”

        I would estimate number 4 to be Season of the Witch.

        There are other high ranking movies including Yogi Bear and Faster. Even Inception is doing great and may make the top 10 again.

    I’ve seen two movies off this list. Tron Legacy. And in all fairness, I only watched it for two reasons. Pale chick in skin tight outfit. And Jeff Bridges does not play Flynn, he pretty much sounds and acts like The Dude in this movie, which is f*cking cool. While the look of the movie was indeed high concept, it just wasn’t a GREAT movie. It was alright.

    The other movie I saw off the list was The Mechanic. And I have a confession, I LOVE cheesy SyFy originals. Can never NOT watch them. This is no SyFy original, but a Jason Statham movie is the action equivalent. Think what you want, but that’s how I feel. And it was meh. Like by the 20 minute mark, I didn’t even need to watch to tell you the rest of the plot and how it would turn out.

    The rest of the list I wouldn’t watch if my life depended on it. But they are “new” movies online so of course they’re being downloaded like crazy. And that sentence is aimed at sherboil (or whatever his name was).
