After the historic protests in January the SOPA and PIPA bills were ‘shelved’.
Theoretically this means the bills can be put back on the table any day, but according to MPAA chief Chris Doss this is not going to happen, at least not for SOPA
In an interview with Bloomberg Television Dodd says SOPA is “history”.
“It’s gone. In my view, it’s dead,” he adds.
MPAA’s boss is quick to add that “the issue hasn’t gone away,” and his organization will continue to push for new legislation.
It might not be called SOPA, but backroom negotiations are still ongoing.
